ROCK Pi 4 > Hardware > Hardware Revision
There are three models of ROCK Pi 4, model A, model B and model C. Model A is a stripped down version of model B. Model C is an enhanced version of model B. The differences are:
- Model A vs. Model B
- Model A doesn't have wifi/bt model(ap6256)
- the RJ45 connector on model A doesn't support PoE
- Model A doesn't have the 4Pin PoE header
- Model B vs. Model C
- Model C adds one additional mini DP port based on model B
- Model C changes the HDMI connector from type A to type D(micro HDMI)

Model A | B
V1.3
This is the first MP version, the key features are:
- User type C for power, adds QC&PD trigger IC
- LPDDR4 for 1/2/4GB ram
- Use odroid compatible eMMC socket as storage
- On board wifi antenna
V1.4
V1.4 is a slightly updates based on the V1.3, solves the issues reported by users. The schematic is the same as V1.3.
- Changes the USB3 OTG label to simple L/H for Host/Device
- Add external wifi antenna option, not soldered by default
- Change the headphone footprint to through hole leg one
- Change user status LED from red to blue(blinking red led is confusing for some user)
- A 4MB(32Mbit) SPI flash is pasted by default, for future SPI booting support
V1.5
To fight with the global chips shortage, replace the short of supply chips.
- ROCK Pi 4A and 4B now share the same PCB(ROCK Pi 4), no wifi/bt module pasted on 4A, RJ45 has no PoE capability on 4A
- Ethernet phy changed from RTL8211E to RLT8211F(no software change required)
- Change the headphone detect circuit, use the mic from HP jack by default
- QC/PD protocol trigger chip changed to CH224D
V1.6(4A+/4B+)
- 4A+ and 4B+ now share the same PCB(ROCK Pi 4 Plus), no wifi/bt module pasted on 4A+, RJ45 has no PoE capability on 4A+
- Add USB C input voltage measure from SoC ADC
- Add EEPROM (BL24C16A) for mac address and serial no.
- eMMC socket changed to on board chips
- Three buttons are soldered by default.(1: Maskrom 2: Reset 3: Recovery) See [picture here].
V1.72(4A+/4B+)

- Optimize the headphone jack footprint for manufacturing
- Board manufactured after 2022-08-05 will have SPI unpopulated. This include future revisions.
